Central Assembly of God Embraces Immersive Sound with d&b Soundscape
Every worship space comes with its own set of challenges. At Central Assembly of God, the auditorium is both tall and short with a dome-like ceiling that made audio coverage inconsistent. Some seats received plenty of energy, while others felt disconnected from the mix. The church needed a system that could overcome the limitations of the room and provide clear, immersive sound for every worshipper.
A Different Direction
The original plan was to install a traditional left-right PA. But when Central’s team attended a d&b Soundscape demo, they were struck by the clarity and evenness of the coverage. Even more compelling, Soundscape could be implemented at around the same price as a conventional system. For their unique room, it was the obvious choice.
Designing the System
Fresh Tech installed a d&b Soundscape system powered by the DS100 processor. The new design uses five d&b 24S loudspeakers across the front, supported by six d&b 5S loudspeakers as front fills and two d&b 5S as side fills. Low-frequency energy is anchored by six d&b Bi6 subwoofers, delivering depth and impact without overwhelming the room.
Soundscape’s immersive processing allows instruments and voices to be placed exactly where they are on stage, making the audio experience feel natural and transparent. Instead of fighting the dome’s reflections, the system uses spatial processing to engage the entire room with consistency and clarity.
More Than Just a PA
Alongside the loudspeaker installation, Fresh Tech delivered a full refresh of the church’s audio infrastructure. The system was expanded with Shure ULXD wireless microphones, Shure in-ear monitors, and supporting RF infrastructure. Together, these upgrades gave Central Assembly a modern, reliable platform that supports both worship and production with excellence.
The Impact
With the new system in place, every seat now experiences the same clarity and intelligibility. Worship leaders are heard exactly where they stand on stage, and the low end feels balanced throughout the space. What was once a difficult, uneven room has been transformed into an immersive environment where people can worship without distraction.
For Central Assembly of God, the Soundscape upgrade is more than new technology. It is a tool that unifies the congregation, supports leaders, and allows the message to be heard with clarity and confidence every week.
