Simplicity That Serves
Allison Park Church KidZone Audio System
KidZone at Allison Park Church is not a traditional auditorium. It is a wide, multi-purpose space with the energy of a gym and the pace of kids ministry.
That environment requires something different.
The goal was not to build a production-heavy system. It was to create something extremely simple, reliable, and volunteer friendly. A system that works every week without intimidation, confusion, or constant troubleshooting.
Designed for Volunteers First
KidZone volunteers are not production specialists. They are leaders, teachers, and communicators. The technology needed to support them, not distract them.
Rather than installing a traditional front-of-house audio console, the entire system is powered through a custom Q-SYS control interface on a touch panel.
For the operator, the experience is simple. Clean faders. Clear labels. Power on and go.
Behind the scenes, however, the system functions like a full-featured audio console. EQ, compression, feedback suppression, routing, and processing are all active and properly tuned. Advanced controls are accessible through a secure passcode for staff, allowing leadership to make adjustments without exposing complexity to volunteers.
The result is a powerful system that feels effortless to operate.
Smart Use of Existing Investment
Stewardship matters.
We were able to fly the church’s existing JBL subwoofers and pair them with four Fulcrum Acoustic GX1200 loudspeakers. The combination provides smooth, even coverage across a wide room without overcomplicating the design.
The system was tuned to deliver clear speech for teaching moments while maintaining energy and impact during worship and transitions.
Rather than replacing everything, we maximized what was already there and elevated it with thoughtful deployment.
Flexible by Design
KidZone is not just a Sunday space. It serves multiple purposes throughout the week.
To support that flexibility, we added local stage I/O that allows for easy patching when the room needs to adapt. Whether it is a special event, a presentation, or a reconfigured layout, the infrastructure is ready.
The system is also integrated into the building’s existing Dante network, allowing seamless communication with the broader campus when needed.
Wireless microphones are handled through two channels of Shure SLXD, kept on charging docks so they are always powered and ready.
Technology That Fades Into the Background
At Fresh Tech, we believe the best systems are the ones that disappear.
In KidZone, volunteers do not see racks of gear or complicated controls. They see a touch panel with a few faders and clear labels. They press power. They move a fader. They teach.
Under the surface, the system is robust, scalable, and fully capable. But the barrier to entry remains extremely low.
That balance is intentional.
Because when technology feels simple, ministry becomes stronger.
