Consistent Clarity at Riverside Mills Campus

Riverside Community Church’s Mills campus is creating meaningful experiences for their congregation every week. To support that vision, Fresh Tech provided a complete audio upgrade with one clear goal: ensuring that every voice, every instrument, and every message could be heard with consistency and clarity.

Why Change Was Needed

The campus meets in a unique space, a storefront in a mall in western Pennsylvania with a low ceiling and a deep room layout. This kind of environment creates significant challenges for audio coverage. Traditional PA systems often leave the front rows overwhelmed while the back rows struggle to keep up.

Riverside also had a desire for sonic consistency across all of their campuses. They already used L-Acoustics loudspeakers in another location and wanted that same recognizable clarity at Mills, giving every campus a consistent sound profile.

Designing the Right System

Fresh Tech installed a L-Acoustics PA system that delivers intelligible sound across every seat. Each of the two hangs includes one A10i Focus, one A10i Wide, and one KS21 subwoofer, all powered by an LA4X amplifier. This compact yet powerful design brings even coverage, warmth for music, and clarity for spoken word throughout the room.

At front of house, the system is anchored by an Allen & Heath Avantis console with a stagebox, paired with a Waves Livebox for advanced processing. The Avantis has quickly become a favorite in churches because of its unique combination of capability and affordability. It delivers premium features without the cost of higher-end touring consoles, giving Riverside’s production team the power they need while protecting the budget.

Adding Waves integration takes the system to another level. Waves processing provides world-class plugins for EQ, compression, and effects that can be inserted directly into the mix. This gives engineers the ability to achieve a polished, clean sound with the same tools used in top studios, all inside a volunteer-friendly workflow.

While onsite, the Fresh Tech team also re-rigged the front light bar, creating more consistency in Riverside’s stage lighting and giving the room a balanced, professional look.

The Result

With the new system in place, Riverside Mills Campus now has consistent, intelligible sound throughout the entire room, even in the low-ceiling, deep-room layout. Worship feels immersive, teaching is crystal clear, and volunteers can operate the system with confidence.

This project highlights the value of intentional system design. By matching the right tools to the room and aligning with Riverside’s vision, Fresh Tech delivered a solution that feels natural, reliable, and built for ministry.
